The computer I bought in Hewlett-Packard Compaq Presario came equipped with a single-user version of Office home, I presume which ran perfectly for some years. It then suddenly stopped working in , so far as I remember , possibly because of a malware attack.

Microsoft kindly replaced it with a copy from its archives which they even reinstalled for me. Like the earlier one, it ran perfectly until late last year. A local technical company cleaned it up by saving everything on the computer, taking the machine apart and spring-cleaning its insides, putting all my data and programs back in place, then installing the latest Windows Since then, every time I open an Office program, a form appears which tells me that the program is not activated.

I found a valid key and the activation seemed to take place. However, the next time I opened the program, the form appeared again. I then entered Windows 10 which told me that the activation could only be carried out by my supervisor. I then suddenly found out that the version Microsoft had sent me was actually Office Professional Plus I presume that the latest Windows required certification that the earlier versions did not. I have tried to contact Microsoft, but there was either no matching problem to tick, or the screen to describe this problem was too small.

Can anyone tell me how to get Microsoft to work on this, instead of my being redirected to answers which do not match, or talking to a robot which does not understand my problem. Well, the linked article is unhelpful. It basically tells people they are pirates without providing any troubleshooting steps or helping concretely. Sure, they point the users to some licensing website and activatd them off, done. If you have a problem with Pro Plus midrosoft need the original installation media a Key to repair. It will provide read and print only access to your existing Office files. You will not be able to edit files or save new ones. If you have confirmed please check again that you have no other Office installations other that Office Starter then the next thing to try is boot the computer, then start one of your Office Programs using “Run As Admin” then doing the activation again.
