Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. The computer is a bit operating system well it says so on the properties tab. For added confusion I have folders called “Program Folders” and “Program Folders x86 ” [whatever that is all about? I’ve only installed Access, Excel and Word – none of which seem to suggest either 64 or The bit operating system and download the x64 would seem to make sense — but sadly I am none the wiser – when the other option appears to be 32 v86 vs 86 – it looks like a down grade combined with an upgrade.

How do I establish which “bit” Office – or perhaps more precisely? Open Any Office app and Go to the File tab, in there select Help, under the About section it should indicate whether your Office version is 64 or 32 bit.

This is different from the Operating system. You can run 32 bit programs under a 64 bit OS. The x86 designation stems from the older lines of Intel processors.

And it denotes 32 bit. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another. Any content of an adult theme or inappropriate to a community web site. Could not find any reference to the “About” section – has it been removed from the new Office versions? I’ve downloaded both – just need to decide which one to install. Appreciate your help enormously and the explanations too! If Office is bit the name will reflect that. I’m glad the programming is a little easier to understand – having said that I have an “invalid outside procedure” to contend with now Please uninstall bit Office programs then retry installing bit Office.

If you want to install bit Office instead, please run the bit set up. I hadn’t noticed that they moved it. If I click that button, the dialog that opens gives the product details at the top, including the fact that in my case it’s bit.

Depends on what version of Office you are using to develop the apps.
