Lightroom 5 will remember the photos you have checked, and will open those in small tabs the next time you open lightroom 5. Now that you have your photo s chosen, lets get to the editing. Temp and tint : will begin to change the colour of your photo, sometimes giving it a warmer or cooler look, or sometimes changing the whole colour of the picture out right! These ones are a little trickier, and my best advice would be a little goes a long way for these two! Whites and blacks: Are much like Highlights and shadows, though a little touchier. While some photos look REALLY good when paired with the same system as highlights and shadows, a lot of photos get drowned in this change, and end up looking to bright or to dull.

Clarity, Vibrance, and Saturation : Clarity will make your photo crisp, or more blurry. Its very dependent on the photo, though i prefer a bit of a crisper look.

Vibrance will make the colours of your photos very soft and ‘dull,’ or on the opposite side of the spectrum make them bright, and pop. Saturation is similar to Vibrance.

It can either make your colours pop, or your photo completely black and white. Skip Tone curve all together, thats a little more complicated, and not needed right now. In Lightroom, click Add Photos the plus icon at the top left of the workspace. In the Finder MacOS or File Explorer Windows that opens, navigate to a folder of photos or individual photos on your computer or external drive, like the unzipped folder of sample files you downloaded from this page.

You have the option to include photos in a new or existing album during import. At the top of the preview screen, click to the right of Add to Album and choose New.

Click the Edit icon in the column on the right to access panels of editing controls for adjusting lighting and color, adding effects, refining detail, and fixing perspective in a photo.

The column on the right includes the Crop tool for cropping and straightening, the Healing Brush for removing unwanted content, and the Brush , Linear Gradient , and Radial Gradient tools for adjusting part of a photo. Click the three dots in this column to access more editing controls, like the Edit in Photoshop command. Use the icons at the bottom of this column to access the Keywords panel and the Info panel. Click Presets to use the Presets panel.
